The Centre for Gender research, Advocacy and Documentation (CEGRAD) is a non-teaching Centre established in the University of Cape Coast. CEGRAD focuses mainly on Research, Advocacy and Outreach and operates under two core departments, Research and Outreach and Advocacy who support the Director in the delivery of the centre’s mandate, mission and vision.

CEGRAD began operation on the 1st August 2013 but was officially opened on 16th September, 2015 by Prof. D. D. Kuupole, the Vice Chancellor, 2013-2017. The setting up of CEGRAD was in response to internal and external commitments, which included the Key thrust 2 of the University’s Strategic Plan, which aims at creating a conducive working environment, which recognizes equal opportunities for Faculties, Staff, and Students.  The office location for CEGRAD is on the last floor of the C.  A. Ackah Lecture Theatre Complex (CALC), adjacent the auditorium 900, UCC.
